Done…
2011 is done. Some highlights: Noorderslag Festival in Groningen, Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta (I), club tour through Holland, hugging Bill Withers, the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, cruising California and working with Lori Lieberman, playing in Carré with the Metropole Orchestra and Jonathan Jeremiah, releasing the Live album, gigging with Oleta Adams and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, a double 3FM Award nomination, an Edison nomination, “Elephants” on high rotation in Japan, the whole festival season last summer, recording the “Revisited” jazz EP (will be released in February) with Ernst Glerum and Joost Pato?ka, the band: Stefan, Paul, Hugo, Maarten, Coos, Bart and Nahui (and of course Alex, Sean, Floris, Miguel, Lourens, Valentijn, Bastiaan, Robbert, Eric, Mark). And I’m pretty damn proud of all the stuff we did this year (and I feel quite comfortable bragging about this, as you’ve probably noticed)! But now it’s time to look forward again. 2012 will be a busy year, with writing a new record being the main goal. I find it shit-scary, and I hope to live up to the expectations, but I’m also looking forward to the writing proces again. I wonder where we’ll be in one year from now…
To all of you: thank you for your support the last year. I’ve said this before, I know, but thanks to you guys I’m able to do the things I love the most. Playing and writing. Thank you for that.
I wish you all a f*cking great 2012! Make it worthwhile. Now, let’s get drunk…
